🌿 Care & Maintenance Guide

At KitakamiKids, we handcraft our DINO Collection using only the highest quality birch plywood and certified eco-friendly, water-based finishes. Because our furniture is built from real, natural wood, a little proper care will ensure it remains safe, beautiful, and durable for generations of play.

✨ Daily Cleaning

• Keep it dry: For general cleaning, simply wipe the surfaces with a soft, clean, and slightly damp microfiber cloth.

• Dry immediately: Always follow up with a dry cloth to remove any leftover moisture. Do not let water sit on the wood, especially inside the sliding grooves.

• Avoid harsh chemicals: Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach, ammonia, or alcohol-based sprays. These can damage the protective water-based lacquer and dry out the wood. If needed, use a few drops of mild, organic dish soap mixed with water.

🖍️ Chalkboard Care (Tikkurila Finish)

• Cleaning the board: To clean the integrated chalkboard panels, use a soft, damp cloth or a classic felt eraser.

• Type of chalk: We highly recommend using traditional, soft calcium-based chalk. Avoid using liquid chalk markers, as they can penetrate the porous texture of the chalkboard paint and leave permanent stains or ghosts.

⚙️ Maintenance & Safety Checks

• Check the hardware: Because children love active play, we recommend checking the structural screws once every few months. If any screw feels slightly loose, gently tighten it using the provided Allen key to ensure absolute stability.

• Keep the grooves clean: Regularly check the CNC-milled grooves for crumbs, dust, or small toy parts. Keeping the channels clear ensures a smooth, fluid, and tool-free transformation every single time.

• Wheel upkeep: Wipe the discrete transport wheels occasionally with a damp cloth to remove any dust or fibers, ensuring they continue to glide smoothly without marking your floors.

☀️ Environment & Placement

• Indoor use only: Our furniture is designed exclusively for indoor environments. Keep it away from high-humidity areas (like unprotected outdoor patios) or direct exposure to rain.

• Heat and sunlight: Avoid placing the pieces directly against high-heat sources (such as radiators or fireplaces) and minimize prolonged exposure to intense, direct sunlight, as this can naturally alter the beautiful, warm tone of the wood over time.

📦 Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing KitakamiKids! We take immense pride in the craftsmanship of our DINO Collection. If for any reason you or your little explorer are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we are here to help you with a smooth and transparent return process.

⏱️ 30-Day Return Window

Under European Union consumer protection laws, you have the right to return your purchase. At KitakamiKids, we extend this peace of mind to a 30-day return policy. You have 30 days from the date you received your package to request a return.

📋 Eligibility Criteria for Returns

To be eligible for a full refund, please ensure that:

• The furniture is completely unused, un-assembled, and in the same pristine condition that you received it.

• The item must be repacked securely in its original flat-pack packaging, including all protective foam, hardware (screws), and the assembly manual.

• Please note: Any item that has been fully assembled, shows signs of cosmetic wear (scratches, dents), or is missing original structural components cannot be accepted for a standard refund.

❌ Non-Returnable Items

• Customized or Personalized Products: If you requested a specific custom name engraving, custom color scheme, or a non-standard adjustment tailored exclusively for your child, these items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective.

🚚 Return Shipping Costs & Logistics

• Customer Responsibility: Unless the item arrived damaged or defective due to a courier error, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipping costs back to our workshop.

• Recommendation: Because our premium birch plywood packages are heavy and voluminous (ranging from 20 kg to 30 kg), we highly recommend using a tracked, insured shipping service (such as DHL or DPD). KitakamiKids cannot be held responsible for return packages that are lost or damaged in transit before reaching our workshop.

🔧 Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

We inspect every single panel and component microscopic-level before it leaves our family workshop. However, if your package arrives damaged during transit or contains a manufacturing defect:

1. Please inspect the package immediately upon delivery.

2. Contact us within 48 hours of receipt at office.kitakami@gmail.com

3. Provide your order number along with clear photos of the damaged packaging and the affected components.

4. We will arrange and pay for a replacement part or a full replacement product to be shipped to you as a priority, completely free of charge.

💰 Refunds Process

Once your return package is delivered back to our workshop, our team will inspect the items within 3–5 business days.

• If the return is approved, we will process your refund immediately.

• The credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay).

• Depending on your bank or card issuer, the funds typically take 5–10 business days to reflect in your account.
